Burger King's 20-Slice Cheese Sandwich Causes Stir in Thailand
An unconventional menu item from Burger King, consisting of 20 slices of American cheese and devoid of any meat, has been causing a buzz online in Thailand. The fast-food chain confirmed the existence of this "real cheeseburger", which was launched across all Burger King outlets in Thailand on Monday.
A Unique Take on Cheeseburgers
Burger King took to social media to announce the launch of the "real cheeseburger", stating that it wasn't a joke but a genuine offering. The sandwich, priced at $3.10, significantly undercuts the traditional cheeseburger, which comes with a beef patty and a price tag of $10.90.
Going Viral and Supply Challenges
The peculiar menu item quickly went viral online, leading to some supply challenges. At least one Burger King outlet in Bangkok had to temporarily halt delivery orders for the sandwich to ensure sufficient stock for walk-in customers.
Customer Reactions
The towering cheese sandwich has received mixed reviews from customers. Im Jeepetch, a 25-year-old customer, shared with CNN that while she enjoys cheese on her burgers, the "real cheeseburger" was a bit too much for her. "I could only finish half of it," she said, adding that the burger had an "insane amount of cheese". Jeepetch believes that food tastes best when ingredients are combined in the right proportions.
