Colombian Jungle Survival: Rescued Children Discharged from Hospital
Four children, who were discovered alive in the Colombian jungle after a 40-day ordeal, have been released from the hospital. According to a spokesperson from the Colombian Institute for Family Welfare (ICBF), the children are in good health.
Survival and Recovery
The siblings spent a month under medical supervision after their rescue. They were transferred to a home on Thursday evening where they will initially reside. Their maternal grandparents have applied for custody of the children.
Tragic Beginnings
The children were found in early June in a rainforest in the southern part of the country. This was 40 days after the plane they were travelling in had crashed. Their mother, the pilot, and an indigenous leader tragically lost their lives in the plane crash.
