Elon Musk Announces 'TruthGPT', an AI Rival to ChatGPT
Elon Musk has revealed details about his much-anticipated ChatGPT rival, called TruthGPT, an AI platform aimed at challenging Microsoft and Google's offerings. During an interview on Fox News Channel's Tucker Carlson Tonight, Musk stated that TruthGPT seeks "to understand the nature of the universe" and that it "might be the best path to safety" since an AI focused on understanding the universe would likely not annihilate humans.
Musk recently created an AI company called X.AI, headquartered in Nevada, after approaching AI researchers about developing an alternative to ChatGPT. His entry into the AI market comes after the launch of OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard, both powerful AI chatbot engines.
In the interview, Musk reiterated his longstanding concerns about the possible destructive power of AI and its potential for civilizational destruction.
